For Rain Bird Sprinklers: Unscrew the waterline with a wrench. If other sprinklers still work, water pressure is the culprit. Sprinkler heads require 25 pounds of pressure per square inch (psi) in order to work correctly. A sprinkler that is in good working order should throw the water at least 36 feet without adjustments. You may also remove your sprinkler head from the ground and inspect the head for damage from lawn mowers, edgers and other common household items. DFW Sprinkler Repair Masters can help with Rain Bird Sprinklers in need of repair plus all other makes and models as well. For the Fort Worth area please visit Calworth Sprinkler Repair for all your irrigation needs as we no longer service the western half of DFW.
Common Problems We Handle:
Clogged nozzles on sprinkler heads - It is possible for a moveable sprinkler head to become clogged with dirt and other debris over time. This is especially true if you mow your lawn often or live in a higher-traffic area. You should, from time to time, give your system an inspection just to make sure everything is running smoothly and that no minor clogs exist. The best time to do this is after winter when your system has been dormant for several months.
Zones do not turn off correctly - The problem here is that a timer isn't functioning properly or a valve is stuck. We see this often. Unplug the electricity and see if the sprinkler goes off. If so, the issue at hand is probably with the timer. If it stay on, the issue is a stuck valve.
Different types of heads are designed for different locations in a desired area. Common types of heads include pop-up sprayers, impact and gear-driven rotors and more. Rotor heads are better at covering a larger square footage than pop-ups, but have a slower water flow. If you are looking to have a new irrigation system installed, we can assess your situation and give you advice on which type of head to use to avoid flooding.
